In 2015, Young Men premiered at Sadler's Wells in London. Young Men is a moving story of love, friendship, loss, and survival, chronicling the journeys of those sent to fight in the First World War. BalletBoyz evoke the history and memory of these Young Men through a breathtaking combination of dance, theater, and their award-winning feature-length film of the same name. Featuring a score written by critically-acclaimed singer/songwriter Keaton Henson, recorded by the BBC Concert Orchestra, and with choreography by Iván Pérez, BalletBoyz bursts from the screen onto the stage to tell the stories of the Young Men who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Co-commissioned by BalletBoyz, 14-18 NOW Centenary Arts Commission, BBC and Sadler's Wells.

Michael Nunn and William Trevitt (Co-Artistic Directors) met at the Royal Ballet Upper School and joined the Royal Ballet together in 1987. During their twelve years at The Royal Ballet between them, they danced all the principal roles. In 2000, they co-founded BalletBoyz. They danced all over the world for ten years and won numerous awards and accolades, working with leading dancers, choreographers, and designers. In 2010, they both retired from the stage and began the first edition of the groundbreaking project theTALENT. Nunn and Trevitt selected eight young male dancers from a variety of backgrounds and worked with them closely, mentoring and coaching them to create a company of first-class performers. Now in its fifth year, the Company has expanded to ten dancers and regularly tours the UK and internationally. In 2013, BalletBoyz won the National Dance Award for Best Independent Company. Nunn and Trevitt have created numerous arts documentaries for television including BalletBoyz I & II, Strictly Bolshoi, The Royal Ballet in Cuba, BalletBoyz: The Next Generation and BalletBoyz: The Rite of Spring, as well as forty short films for Channel 4's Random Acts strand. They have won numerous awards for their film work including an International Emmy, Rose d'Or and Golden Prague. In 2012, they crossed the Atlantic to make A Chance to Dance, a seven-part TV series for U.S. network Ovation, co-produced by Nigel Lythgoe. Nunn and Trevitt are Ambassadors for His Royal Highness Prince Charles's charity Children and The Arts. They were made OBEs in 2012 for their services to dance.

Michael Nunn and William Trevitt, founders of BalletBoyz, have been hailed as pioneers for making dance accessible and reaching a wider audience through their celebrated stage and television work. BalletBoyzhas established itself as one of the most original and innovative forces in modern dance: revolutionising traditional programming formats, commissioning new work, collaborating with a wide range of cutting-edge talents, and building a big following through TV work. BalletBoyz's chief aim is to challenge, excite, and enlighten audiences through the wide body of work that it carries out. They continue to develop ground breaking education initiatives, particularly working with boys in dance, and pride themselves on their dancer led workshops that provide an invaluable insight into the company's repertoire. Since its formation in 2000, the company has won numerous awards and nominations including an Olivier Award, a Critics' Circle National Dance Award, two South Bank Show Award nominations, as well as a Rose d'Or, International Emmy, and Golden Prague Grand Prix for its TV work. BalletBoyzhas been an Associate Company at Sadler's Wells since 2005.

The Joyce Theater Foundation ("The Joyce," Executive Director, Linda Shelton), a nonprofit organization, has proudly served the dance community for over three decades. Under the direction of founders Cora Cahan and Eliot Feld, Ballet Tech Foundation acquired and The Joyce renovated the Elgin Theater in Chelsea. Opening as The Joyce Theater in 1982, it was named in honor of Joyce Mertz, beloved daughter of LuEsther T. Mertz. It was LuEsther's clear, undaunted vision and abundant generosity that made it imaginable and ultimately possible to build the theater. Ownership was secured by The Joyce in 2015. The theater is one of the only theaters built by dancers for dance and has provided an intimate and elegant home for over 400 U.S.-based and international companies. The Joyce has also presented dance at Lincoln Center since 2012, and launched Joyce Unleashed in 2014 to feature emerging and experimental artists. To further support the creation of new work, The Joyce maintains longstanding commissioning and residency programs. Local students and teachers (K-12th grade) benefit from its school program, and family and adult audiences get closer to dance with access to artists. The Joyce's annual season of about 48 weeks of dance now includes over 340 performances for audiences in excess of 150,000.
