National Ballet Of Canada Announces MAD HOT BALLET Fundraiser NORTHERN LIGHTS, 6/6
The National Ballet of Canada today announced that the company's annual fundraising gala MAD HOT BALLET: Northern Lights will take place on June 6, 2017 at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. This year, the gala celebrates Canada's 150th anniversary and honours the luminaries of Canadian dance, Artistic Director Karen Kain, Veronica Tennant, Evelyn Hart, Frank Augustyn and Artist-In-Residence Rex Harrington.
"One of the top 10 hottest Canadian party tickets of 2016" (The Globe and Mail), MAD HOT BALLET has raised over $10.5 million to support the artists and activities of the National Ballet to date. MAD HOT BALLET: Northern Lights is anticipated to raise over $1 million in one outstanding evening.
The hour-long gala performance of short works will showcase the National Ballet's talented artists and will be followed by a reception with themed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres for all guests in the Isadore and Rosalie Sharp City Room. VIP guests are invited to a private dinner onstage catered by Canadian celebrity chef Mark McEwan's North 44 Caters followed by dancing with the Artists of the National Ballet.
"During this historic year when CIBC is celebrating our shared 150 anniversary alongside Canada, we are proud to support organizations like The National Ballet of Canada which help enrich our nation's highly valued artistic culture," said Jay Smith, First Vice-President, CIBC Wood Gundy. "We look forward to a superb evening of dance at the Mad Hot Ballet Gala and are very pleased to be a part of its continued success."
This year's gala co-chairs are Emily Burnett and Jonathan Bloomberg.
