St. Louis Shakespeare Presents MACBETH 10/2-11 At The Grandel Theatre

By:

St. Louis' premier classical theatre presents the Bard's royal Scottish tragedy October 2-11 at the Grandel Theatre.

Directed by Artistic Director Donna Northcott, St. Louis Shakespeare presents MACBETH, William Shakespeare's eerie and haunted tragedy of ambition and murder. St. Louis Shakespeare tells the bloody story of Macbeth and his lady, whose aspiration to royalty cuts a gory swath to the Scottish throne. But the self-fulfilling prophecies of three mysterious witches turn on Macbeth as quickly as they helped him rise, and the usurping king finds his new kingdom rising against him!

There will be a one-hour lecture and discussion session before the October 3rd show, at 7:00 PM, featuring St. Louis Shakespeare Artistic Director Donna Northcott and two local Shakespeare experts. Admission is free with purchase of a show ticket.

St. Louis Shakespeare also presents three morning matinees of MACBETH for high school students. These take place at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 2nd, Thursday, October 8th, and Friday, October 9th at the Grandel. Ticket prices are $8/student, with one free adult for every 15 students. Additional adult tickets are $10. Teachers, bring your English classes!

MACBETH stars Andrew Keller as Macbeth, Nicole Angeli as Lady Macbeth, Rich Kelly as Banquo, Chris Jones as Macduff, and Mark Abels as Duncan.

Performances are October 2-11, Thursday at 7:30 PM, Friday and Saturday at 8:00 PM and Sunday at 2:00 PM at the Grandel Theatre, 3610 Grandel Square in Grand Center, 63103. Tickets are $25 general admission, $20 for seniors 65+, and $15 for students with ID. Advance tickets are available through Brown Paper Tickets at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/64287.
