Harris Theater Announces New Dates for QUEENIE PIE, HANDEL & BACH-ITALIAN STYLE and More

The Harris Theater for Music and Dance has announced new dates for previously scheduled performances, including Chicago Opera Theater's production of Queenie Pie and Music of the Baroque's Handel & Bach-Italian Style. The Joffrey Ballet's Winning Works: Choreographers of Color Awards will now take place on March 1 at the Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 East Chestnut Street). New dates for the Harris Theater Presents performances of Alonzo King LINES Ballet are still to be determined. Patrons who hold tickets for the LINES Ballet performances previously scheduled for February 27 and 28 will be contacted by a Box Office representative once new dates are confirmed.

The Harris Theater is currently closed for electrical repairs through March 6.

New dates and times are as follows:

Joffrey Academy of Dance

Winning Works: Choreographers of Color Awards

March 1 at 7PM

NEW VENUE: Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place (175 East Chestnut Street)
Tickets: $20

The winners of the Choreographers of Color Awards 2014 Justin Allen, Stefanie Batten Bland, and Norbert De La Cruz III will showcase their work on the international cast of Joffrey Academy Trainees. The program also includes a restaging of Le Roi S'Amuse by Joffrey Academy Artistic Director Alexei Kremnev.

Chicago Opera Theater: Queenie Pie

Friday, February 21 tickets rescheduled to Thursday, March 20 at 7:30PM

Sunday, February 23 tickets rescheduled to Sunday, March 23 at 3:00PM

Wednesday, March 5 tickets rescheduled to Wednesday, March 19 at 7:30PM

Remaining tickets: $35-$125

(Harlem, 1937) Queenie has won her tenth Queenie Pie title, a national honor bestowed on the most talented and powerful beautician in the country. After the competition, Queenie wants a big congratulatory party so, as usual, she throws one for herself. Queenie's yearly after-party is the popular destination for competitors and their retinues, and her door is open to receive admirers-even a ruthless competitor who's determined to win back Queenie's crown.

Tickets for original Chicago Opera Theater performances will be honored at the rescheduled dates. Additional information for Chicago Opera Theater's Queenie Pie, including exchanging seats to a different date, can be found at chicagooperatheater.org/box-office.

Music of the Baroque

Handel & Bach-Italian Style

April 21 at 7:30PM

Tickets: $27-$75

Rarely heard works for orchestra and voice-Handel's passionate Apollo e Dafne for soprano and baritone, and Bach's Non sa che sia dolore for solo soprano-highlight a program exploring works in the Italian style by the era's greatest German composers. A lively concerto grosso by Handel and Bach's A Minor Violin Concerto are also featured.

Tickets for Music of the Baroque's March 3 performance will be honored on April 21. New tickets will not be issued by Music of the Baroque.
