ECHOES ACROSS THE LAND To Be Performed At Markideio Municipal Theatre
The performance will take place on May 8th in Paphos, Cyprus.
Following the opening concert of the Classical Music category within the new Concert Series of the Pafos Municipality Cultural Programme, it will continue with the concert “Echoes Across Lands” featuring the soprano Eleni Charalambous and the pianist Mariola Charitidou.
Eleni Charalambous is one of the artists of the younger generation of Cypriot lyric performers. Based in Cologne and artistically active across several European countries, she has already appeared in concert venues and festivals, and recently made her debut in the role of Micaëla in Bizet’s opera Carmen. She will be joined on stage by the pianist, Mariola Charitidou.
This concert will feature different cultures and styles, along with art songs inspired by folk traditions and poetry from across Europe. It will also include works by Komitas, Antonín Dvořák, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Clara Schumann, Francis Poulenc, Maurice Ravel, Fernando Obradors and Manos Hadjidakis. The programme will continue on into the world of opera with famous arias by Giacomo Puccini, Francesco Cilea, Ruperto Chapí and Giuseppe Verdi.
This performance will take place on Friday, May 8 at 8pm at the Markideio Municipal Theatre in Paphos, Cyprus. Admission is free but tickets should be reserved in advance.
