Author Xiyun Liu has always admired Jules Verne whose ideas in his science fictions have all one by one come true, and some scientists and inventors involved in relevant speculations of his sci-fi admitted that they were inspired by Jules Verne's works to have made certain discoveries or inventions. As a curious and passionate teenager with an active mind at that time, the author was convinced that she should really be following Jules Verne's steps and put down her own ideas in her novel "Pearly Gates Beyond Our Universe," (published by Xlibris UK) with the hope that they might one day inspire the rising scientists and inventors to bring her ideas to reality thus bettering the entire world.

"Pearly Gates Beyond Our Universe" follows five school kids who get trapped in a futuristic parallel universe by accident while watching a film. In the human world of that universe, they have learnt what the future world is like, and what the human beings in the present time must do to turn the current world into a paradise-like one identical to that future world. As their exploration goes deeper and deeper, more and more scientific and philosophic discussions and hypotheses are involved.

Strung together by scientific speculations and philosophic discussions together with the concern for the future of humanity; this is a book for anyone who dares to wonder, asks difficult questions, believes that all is not what it seems and is prepared to make the best use of knowledge and technology and struggle towards the light.
