Author William Wadsworth once had a dream in which he witnessed the collision of two worlds, one red and one green. The red world was the dragon of Chinese medical philosophy while the green world (the holistic world) that he already knew well is about tropical astrology. This dream prompted him to write "Heaven, Earth, & Humankind: Three Spheres, Three Light Cycles, Three Modes" (published by Xlibris), a book that integrates the two systems and illuminates the core they share.

This work connects the triune principle in Chinese philosophy that differentiates heaven from earth and then describes human experience as the finest expression of their interaction. In this volume, Wadsworth integrates this core wisdom of the Chinese sages, with the astrological idea of the three modes, which represent similar principles, a causative impulse from heaven, a fixed and enduring principle of earth and a dynamic or cardinal principle that operates strongly in human affairs.

"This book maps a path to understanding why astrology works in terms that anyone can understand," Wadsworth explains. "The operative power of astrology is the three light cycles as all of the ancients understood. We have lost the wisdom, but that lost wisdom has been recovered somewhat in this valuable book."

Through the publication of "Heaven, Earth, & Humankind: Three Spheres, Three Light Cycles, Three Modes," Wadsworth hopes to give the cycles of light and darkness, yin and yang, the respect owed to them. He believes that human happiness depends on self realization and they cannot truly know themselves unless they understand how they feel and react to the cycles of heaven and earth.
