William R. Furr, author of "Tomorrow Achieved," returns to the world of literature with "To Begin Again." Set in early 20th century Central Florida, the story introduces Anton Rheba, a wealthy author and ranch owner, who becomes enmeshed in a delicate situation when his mistress and secretary, Clara Faines, falls pregnant with his child. To make matters worse, Clara's estranged husband, Ronald, has just been released from a mental institution after ten years of confinement and tries to force a reconciliation with Clara.

Caught between a rock and a hard place, Anton turns to Michael Patterson, a minster and human relations consultant, for advice. The already complex situation becomes even more volatile when Michael falls in love with Anton's daughter, Barbara, who has just returned from finishing school. Barbara complicates an already explosive situation by taking unexpected actions of her own. Sarah provides the fuel for a surprise ending.

Furr, the evocative and compelling narrator, depicts the social and economic climate of the times captures the struggles of people navigating their way through the vicissitudes of life and love. He captures the feelings of the of the orange grove and ranchlands of rural Florida in the early 1900s, "To Begin Again" is a story of the heart's greatest mystery and how it changed the lives of six people forever.

About the Author

Born in North Carolina in 1900, William R. Furr started his career engineering and building roads and bridges in cental Florida. During the Second World War, he was active for the War Production Board and flew his own plane. After winning a Chapman Pub. Co. award fo $10,000, he settled in Tampa and started a premium cigar business. His great interest was mail-order, self-help service which he established for handicap shut-ins.
