Imagine an electronic implant the size of a watermelon seed that delivers a college education in a 45-minute surgical procedure. In author William David's intriguing novel, Educating Stone, brilliant neurologist Dr. Arthur Anderson develops exactly that and creates milestone that shakes both the medical community and the higher education system.

Anderson owns a company that conducts research on medical innovation. He is currently developing an implant that can supply a finite amount of knowledge-a college degree amount of knowledge. The receiver of the implant would still learn the old-fashioned human way by reading and going to school, but that body of knowledge is there and accessible. There is no need for any ports as the brain will not be linked to a computer nor will it be sending data to a printer.

The project is not possible without Carl Stone, an average man who volunteers to accept the implant. He has a thirst for knowledge and the desire to change the course of his life for the better. Several people work along with Anderson, including Allegra who hires the assistant, Teri Spelling, who in turn will work witH Clark Dowell, a brilliant and ignorant young man who has awkward social skills. There's also Kate Didmorsen, one of the research associates who works with Dr. Anderson's latest project, and the latter's close friend, Betti. On the other hand, sly and greedy, Oscar Smith is an ethics-free business man will do everything to take control of Doctor Anderson's device and make profit out of it. Will they be able to stop him from his ploy?

In Educating Stone, it is all there and more as this drama plays out in the lives of Arthur Anderson, Carl Stone, Clark Dowell, Betti and all the other interesting characters. It will amuse, entertain and intrigue as one of the greatest breakthroughs in medical science unravels.
