LOS ANGELES, Feb. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ The novel that inspired The Rendezvous action-adventure film starring Stana Katic (Castle) and Raza Jaffrey (Code Black) will be published on Feb. 15, 2017 by New Song, LLC with an updated edition. Originally published in 2011 under the title "A New Song," the book has been revisited by the author Sarah Isaias, MD with a new title "The Rendezvous: A Novel" andnew cover to reflect the exciting major motion picture film set for distribution in 2017.

The film The Rendezvouscreates a romantic adventure with an intriguing blend of modern and classic touches, throwing together Rachel, a Jewish-American doctor and Jake, an Arab-American government bureaucrat, who are trying to solve the mysterious death of Rachel's treasure hunting brother. They are thrust into a race around the Middle East in a global search for an ancient manuscript discovered by Rachel's brother. Drawn into a world of violent religious fanatics called the Armageddonites, who are in desperate search of the missing antiquity, Rachel and Jake put aside their cultural differences to stop them while unexpectedly falling in love.

Said Isaias: "The novel, The Rendezvous, explores themes similar to the movie, but contains a more in-depth treatment of the sacred writings underlying the Abrahamic faith traditions. The Rendezvous is a great adventure story which translated into a wonderful movie, beautifully filmed, scored and acted, but it is also much more than that. It is an imaginative exploration of the power and value of ancient religious artifacts and an attempt to repair a narrative that inflames the terrorism it attempts to prevent."

"I put unconventional characters in the leading roles by casting an Arab man as a romantic hero and creating an iconoclast love affair between a Muslim and a Jew. Together they embarked on a quest for an ancient treasure tapping into the East-West mysticism," she adds.

Thefilm adaption, The Rendezvous, is a Halsted Pictures Production, directed by Amin Matalqa (Captain Abu Raed) and adapted for the screen by Terrel Seltzer. The film starts Stana Katic (Castle, CBGB) and Raza Jaffrey (Homeland, Code Black), Alfonso Bassave, Ronald Guttman (Mad Men) and Glenn Fleshler (True Detective). It has shown at numerous film festivals, including Mill Valley Film Festival, St. Louis International Film Festival and La Havana International Film Festival.

Praise for A New Song / The Rendezvous: A Novel

"God has more power to unite than many realize. 'A New Song' [now 'The Rendezvous'] follows the union of a Muslim poet and Jewish physician as they look for a lost poem which may have a hand in guiding mankind towards its lost redemption. Facing off against extremists and violence, the search for truth is never easy. 'A New Song' is a riveting read that shouldn't be overlooked." - Midwest Book Review

5 of 5 stars. "This is beautifully written to cross the boundaries of Islam and Judaism and Christianity and show a unity in all things. I love the list of beliefs on p. 97. The style is similar to The Da Vinci Code and makes it very difficult to put down, even for just a moment! There were a few minor editing errors but overall it is pretty solid. I loved the character development and the depth of the plot. I highly recommend this book!" - Jess Buike Book Reviews
