The Pub Crawl Continues! Second Edition of Bucket List Bars Released

LAS CRUCES, N.M., Sept. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/  AO Media LLC announces the release of the second edition of Bucket List Bars: Historic Saloons, Pubs, and Dives of America. Since the release of their first edition in 2013, authors Clint Lanier and Derek Hembree have continued crossing the country to find the oldest, most historic bars in the US.

After thousands of miles, countless interviews with owners and bartenders, patrons and critics, and maybe more than a few cold beers, they are pleased to introduce readers to 170 historic bars from 25 major American regions.

"These are the watering holes that tell the history of the country," says Hembree, who spends his days as a utility trader and his weekends trying to discover America's old dives. "Each is unique and reflects the culture of the region it's in."

"But," adds Lanier, a professor at New Mexico State University, "these places are disappearing quickly, and once they're gone, so is the history and all of the stories they had to tell. Travelers need to get to these places while they still can!"

Readers of the guide will get the story of each bar, including the unique history and the reasons why they need to put the bar on their list of destinations when they visit their respective cities. They'll also learn what to order when they go, what to avoid, and tips to make sure the locals don't toss them out. There are also video documentaries made for each featured bar that visitors can use to get a better sense of what the place looks like before going. Finally, each bar they feature lists "notable distractions," interesting things to see and do that are close to the bars included.

"We wanted to make these bars the portals to the cities they're in," explains Lanier. "If you make them destinations, and then explore their surrounding areas, you'll see and experience parts of these regions that tourists typically miss completely."

In Bucket List Bars: Historic Saloons, Pubs, and Dives of America, second edition, readers will find the historic bars of the following cities:

Albuquerque
Atlantic City
Austin
Baltimore
Boston
Chicago
Denver
Detroit
El Paso
Honolulu
Las Vegas
Los Angeles
Minneapolis-Saint Paul
Milwaukee
Newport and Providence
New Orleans
New York City
Philadelphia
Portland
San Antonio
San Diego
San Francisco
Seattle
Tucson
Washington, D.C.

"You can find guidebooks for any of the cities we cover," adds Lanier, "but these will only help you find the places the tourists go. Bucket List Bars will get you off the beaten path and take you to the heart and soul of the city."
