As a child, retired police officer and author, Terry Carter, experienced hardships and struggled with maturity. Overcoming these odds, he then became a law enforcer, which exposed him to dangerous experiences involving racial tension, murder, police attitudes, mistrust, anxiety, deception, death, the dangers that face law enforcement officers and a variety of intriguing events.

Through his book, "The Truth About Pigs" (published by AuthorHouse), Carter shares his views about the incorrect perception about today's police force. The book promotes a better understanding of the character of the men and women who enforce the laws, exposing imperfections and lawlessness at times, but honoring their commitment to fulfill the oath to protect and serve. In the book, the author also shares his conservative political views, as well as the views of many that supported and continue to support the election of President Donald Trump.

The book focuses on the problems of earlier times about how the general public views police brutality, racial and religious discrimination, political preferences and how events have evolved that relate to the violence being presented in the news today.

"(The book) will appeal to those that have an interest in understanding difficulties police have based on real life situations, how their abilities are negatively affected by complacency, indifference, liberalism and ignorance," Carter says. "It suggests that knowledge and common sense are essential to changes for correcting many of the ills facing society today."
