Tachyon Publications Signs with Legato Publishers Group

As of January 2014, Tachyon Publications will be distributed by the Legato Publishers Group.

Legato, an affiliate of Publishers Group West, has announced the signing of 20 founding publishers, including ECW Press and Trafalgar Square Books.

"Legato will launch with some of the best independent publishers in the industry. These are sharp publishers with a strong future and I am delighted to be a part of it," said Legato Publishers Group President Mark Suchomel.

"We're very excited by this opportunity," said Tachyon Publisher Jacob Weisman. "The attention from working with a boutique distributor backed by the infrastructures of Publishers Group West and Perseus will be invaluable."

"We are saddened to be departing from our previous distributor, IPG," said Weisman. "We've grown and flourished with them, and are grateful for the opportunities they have afforded us."

Tachyon Publications is an independent press specializing in science fiction, fantasy, and horror. Since 1996, Tachyon has produced innovative, award-winning genre fiction by authors such as Peter S. Beagle, Tim Powers, Patricia A. McKillip, Cory Doctorow, Michael Moorcock, and many others. Recent titles of note include the 2013 Nebula Award-winner After the Fall, Before the Fall, and During the Fallby Nancy Kress, and current Hugo Award-nominee The Emperor's Soul by Brandon Sanderson.
