TCG to Publish LINCOLN Screenplay

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) is pleased to announce the publication of Tony Kushner's critically acclaimed screenplay for Lincoln, now a major motion picture directed by Steven Spielberg. Inspired by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Doris Kearns Goodwin's book, Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln, the published screenplay of Lincoln will contain eight pages of color photos from the film. The book will be released on January 22, 2013, and is now available for pre-order via the TCG website.

A decade-long collaboration between three-time Academy Award winner Steven Spielberg and the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Angels in America, Tony Kushner, Lincoln is a revealing drama that focuses on the 16th President's tumultuous final months in office. Having just won re-election in a country divided, Lincoln pursues a course of action designed to end the war, unite the country and abolish slavery. With the moral courage and fierce determination to succeed, his choices during this critical moment will change the fate of America, and generations, to come.

The DreamWorks film, which opened in wide release in the U.S. on November 16, 2012, stars two-time Academy Award® winner Daniel Day-Lewis as the 16th U.S. President and two-time Academy Award® winner Sally Field as his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln.
