Rules and Regulations Costing U.S. Businesses and Stifling Economy The topic of government regulations has been widely discussed among Americans, due to recent events, and where the line is, between personal freedom and the public well-being.

In "Get the HECK Out of Our Way!: Examples of Government Regulations that are Eroding Our Freedoms, Holding Back the Economy, and Costing Us Money and What We can Do About It," author Dale W. Cox provides examples of how governmental overreach is stifling personal and business freedom, while contributing to inflation and holding back economic growth.

"I became very frustrated trying to run various businesses," Cox said. "It seemed that every time I turned around, there was another regulatory hurdle holding me back, limiting what I was permitted to do, and costing a lot of wasted time and effort."

Cox is an entrepreneur and business owner in North Carolina. A food scientist by trade, he has worked with some of the largest food companies in the world, including General Mills and Kraft/Nabisco.

"The regulatory environment we live in is holding back our economy," Cox said. "If the government would get the heck out of our way, many of the problems with the economy and our society would be greatly reduced or even disappear."
