In her new book, "An Engaged Learner: A Pocket Resource for Building Community Skills" (published by Trafford Singapore), Rebecca Nthogo Lekoko delivers a step-by-step guide of how to develop community skills.

"An Engaged Learner" delivers practical advice on developing a wide range of skills, including problem solving, interpersonal communication and critical thinking.

"One of the greatest needs of community development these days is to have citizens who are responsible, who can relate well with others and make informed decisions," says Lekoko. "It becomes very important for the present educators to understand the interconnectedness and impact of the lack of these skills and come up with strategies for reinforcing them, which my book aims to amplify."
