"Losing to Win" author Randy Jernigan has signed to reissue his first book of love stories and is in negotiations with a major film company who has made an offer for his screenplay, "Willing to Love."

The screenplay is an adaptation of a short story Jernigan published in an American magazine in 2007 and was recently fleshed out into a film treatment for Jernigan's agency to shop around.

"It didn't take long before we had a few production houses asking about the piece," said Jernigan's agency rep Joel Lockwood. "It was a popular story for the magazine and I'm confident it will be a money-maker for the film company. I have no doubt."

Lockwood is staying mum as to who they are negotiating with, as well as other details, but does add that two names have been attached to the project. A director and actor who both helped sell the project to the studio and will come with the package.

Meanwhile, the busy writer is spreading his creative wings. According to Internet Movie Data Base (IMDB) Jernigan will take on a supporting role of Jesse Henshall in the new ICE Production Partners comedy, "The Plot Thickens" later this year. Jernigan was also in the lead role in a slasher short that recently won 2nd place in a new San Diego film festival.

"This Thing Called Love" will be reissued later this year through Creative Partners Books.
