In his 2011 book, "Far Eastern Overexposure" (published by Trafford Publishing), which is getting a new marketing push for 2014, author and American forestry professional Paul Tweiten accepts a job that sets him on a path less traveled.

In the summer of 1995, Tweiten left the United States to manage a remote timber harvest organization in Siziman Bay in the Russian Far East. His memoir narrates the exciting story of his experiences traveling to a foreign country, not speaking the language and not knowing what to expect.

Life in the isolated camp is unlike anything he imagined. "Far Eastern Overexposure" shows how he overcame the challenges of being thrown into both an unfamiliar culture and a mysterious lifestyle. Meeting lively Russian characters and developing lifelong friendships, Tweiten transitions from an American expatriate to a successful Russian businessman.

"Far Eastern Overexposure" mixes business with pleasure while providing vivid insight into Russian culture.

"Russia is a significant country in the world's politics and economy," explains Tweiten. "I hope that through my book, readers will gain a better understanding of the Russian people, and their similarities and differences from Americans."
