Nikki Rowe's early venture into motherhood and adult life transformed her from a girl into a woman. Thus was born her new book, "Once a Girl, Now a Woman" (published by Balboa Press).

Within the pages of this self-actualization guide for the transitional woman, Rowe's natural wisdom shines.

"Today's society is characterized in so many different walks of life, it is uncalled for," she says. "We are all the same - a human race - just trying to find peace within ourselves for the life we have been handed. Society is too controlled in what they wish a lifestyle to be. I have to disagree with it all, as control, wealth and greed do not satisfy an entire nation."

The book promotes the incorporation of love and light into one's life, employing a non-judgmental tone throughout.

Rowe wants the reader to take away from the book a sense of hope and passion, a zest for life and an appreciation for his or her own individual journey.

"We have the power to make an excuse or make a change," Rowe says. "See it for what it is or mumble it to what we want it to be - the truth will maneuver but it will never completely die. Follow your heart and all else will fall into place."
