Children's author and award-winning actress Julianne Moore reading her new book with a child at a community center in Harlem to celebrate the start of a new school year. Moore appeared at Round the Clock Nursery with Kyle Zimmer, president and CEO of First Book, a nonprofit social enterprise that provides new books and educational materials for kids in need. Moore read from her new book, 'My Mom is a Foreigner, But Not to Me' to pre-K students and their parents, and gave each participating child a signed copy of the book.

The event, intended to promote the importance of books and reading at back-to-school time, was co-hosted by First Book. The books were provided by Moore's publisher, Chronicle Books.
