Joseph E. Provost, Donald Linske and Michael P. Birrell have completed their new book "Dearborn Michigan Fire Department: A Chronological History": a gripping and potent account of the Dearborn Fire Department from 1869 to present day.

Joseph E. Provost is a Detroit native, graduated from Mackenzie High School and is a US Air Force Vietnam Veteran. Joseph began his fire service career in 1975 as a civilian firefighter for the Department of Defense at Selfridge ANGB, near Mt. Clemens, MI. and later with the US Army Tank Automotive Command, Warren, MI., transferring to the City of Dearborn in 1978, and retiring as an engineer in 2002.

Donald Linske is a lifelong resident of Dearborn. He attended Fordson High School and Henry Ford College in Dearborn. He served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964. Don started his career with the Dearborn Fire Department in 1964 and retired in 2002 as a Battalion Fire Chief.

Michael P. Birrell, a Dearborn native graduated from St. Alphonsus High School, Dearbon, MI. Mike served 2 years as a US Army Military Policeman and later as a Deputy with the Wayne County Sheriff Department, Wayne County, MI. Mike began his fire service career in 1975 retiring as Chief of Department after 30 years of service.
