Job Hunters and Employees at Any Career Stage Can Find the Job They'll Love

Research shows that only 30 percent of Americans strongly agree that they have a chance to do their best at work. Authors Moe Carrick and Cammie Dunaway show them how to improve their chances in the forthcoming book "Fit Matters: How to Love Your Job."

"The process for finding a great work fit is neither easy nor simple," says Carrick. "Most of us spend precious little time understanding and considering fit when we take a job, which often costs us time, energy, and job satisfaction down the line." The authors propose that work fit is dynamic and temporal. That it consists of six essential elements, where fit expands and contracts for each of the elements based on a person's stage of life. These elements are:

· Meaning Fit
· Job Fit
· Culture Fit
· Relationship Fit
· Lifestyle Fit
· Financial Fit

Understanding the relationship between these elements of fit, and developing competence in assessing and measuring fit for each of them, is key to landing the right job.

The hope that, for most of the days you spend working, you'll feel good. The hope that meaning and value and contribution will be yours more often than not, resulting in greater alignment, satisfaction, and joy."

The authors offer tools and techniques to help readers evaluate the fit between their needs and the culture of their current or prospective employer, assess what they really need to thrive at work, and develop options if they find themselves in a company or job where they don't fit well.
