Jacqueline Howard Releases GOD'S FRUIT

In "God's Fruit" (published by AuthorHouse), author Jacqueline Howard's new juvenile fiction, she presents readers with information about the spiritual virtues and characteristics God expects from those who choose to follow him.

"The goal of this book is to introduce God's Spiritual Fruit to children," Howard says. "In the process, it seemed like a good way to share knowledge about a selection of tropical fruit; fruit I did not even know existed until my time in The Virgin Islands, through art form."

Included on each page are beautifully crafted illustrations of tropical fruit that Howard hopes will prompt readers to taste the unfamiliar fruit, just as she hopes they taste the love of Jesus. "The central topic of this book is to share the nine spiritual fruits of God found in the book of Galatians from the bible," she says, "while sharing just nine of the tropical fruit I witnessed growing and found in shopping markets as I lived in St. Croix, U. S. Virgin Islands."

Though the tropical fruit shown on each page has nothing to do with the godly attributes talked about on those pages, Howard knows that a connection will be formed in young readers that will help them attribute certain characteristics such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control to pieces of fruit in their daily lives. "I hope this book will encourage children to apply the attributes found here and also see how good the fruit of God is," she says.

Jacqueline Howard is currently a reading teacher in an Indiana-based school district. She has more than 35 years of experience as an educator, as well as a life license in both teaching and counseling. She has a bachelor's degree in education and two master's degrees, one in counseling and one in reading, from Indiana University. She received a doctorate in education from Lael University. Howard and her husband, Eddie, are both elders serving at a local Christian Church in Indiana.
