Ingram Content Group Inc., the global leader in content distribution, celebrated the opening of its first print and distribution facility in the Golden State today. Located in Fresno, it is Lightning Source Inc.'s second facility that uses state-of-the-art, automated print-on-demand (POD) technology to quickly print and distribute books to customers. It joins Ingram's extensive logistics network of 23 facilities and offices around the world.

"Ingram is pleased to continue investing in the future of books with the addition of a new print-on-demand facility in Fresno," said John R. Ingram, Chairman and CEO, Ingram Content Group. "Having a print and distribution presence on the West Coast is critical to our ongoing growth and expansion of services for clients and customers. Fresno's central location allows us to quickly reach major population centers in California and the West, and we've found great talent here to support our operations."

To celebrate the occasion, John Ingram and Shawn Morin, Ingram's Chief Operating Officer, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new facility. Mayor of Fresno Ashley Swearengin, U.S. Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-21) and community members participated in the ribbon cutting to officially open the facility and celebrate Ingram's growth in Fresno.

"This is just another example of the positive economic news that is telling the story of Fresno's continued turnaround," said Mayor Ashley Swearengin. "Having an industry leader like Ingram make a strong commitment to our community reinforces the confidence that businesses and investors are showing in our city."

"During a time when the Central Valley is experiencing extremely high unemployment, we welcome Ingram's new facility in Fresno," said Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-21). "Their decision to invest in our region is further proof that our Valley is home to a highly skilled workforce. In addition to creating dozens of new jobs, Ingram has a long history of giving back, and we are excited to welcome them to our community."

As part of the event, Ingram presented the Fresno County Public Library with $2,500 to purchase books and materials. Ingram also made a $2,500 donation to the United Way of Fresno County to support the organization's local community outreach efforts.

"We strongly believe in giving back and supporting the communities in which we operate," said John Ingram. "We're proud to call Fresno home and look forward to contributing to its continued growth and success."

Ingram's Fresno facility serves the company's clients on the West Coast and can provide next-day service to customers in California and parts of Nevada. Together with Ingram's existing U.S. POD facilities in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Tennessee, the Fresno facility will quicken Ingram's delivery of books to customers and expand its worldwide resources for publishers and booksellers.

Ingram's Fresno facility comprises 50,000 total square feet and brings several dozen new jobs to the area. Many of the jobs are technical positions that support the automated manufacturing process. More information about careers at Ingram is available at http://www.ingramcontent.com/careers.
