Young Lauren Cruddas has read and become fascinated with a lot of paranormal romance books. However, she discovered that in many of the books she read, she found some parts that "just weren't quite right." She also thought that there were some parts missing or the ending just was not what she wanted. In her quest to find books that suited her taste, she soon developed a passion to entertain people and share with them the enjoyment she found in such books. Now, she debuts with her own romance fiction: "FeatherFall."

"I'm 15 years old and wrote this book during my first year of GCSEs. It took just over 10 months with gaps from stress but it was all I wanted to do. I spent many nights writing and rewriting chapters. It was all I could think of most nights," shares Cruddas. "I was so proud when I finished it. It's my greatest accomplishment."

The story follows the lives of three characters who are so intimately connected and who shape the entire story. Violet is the girl whose story this is. It is her emotions and thoughts that Cruddas tries to make the readers feel. Petallia is the person that Violet once was. It was her who gave Violet her crazy life. Finally, there is Gabriel, Violet's soul mate. He suffered much without Violet but tries to help her come to terms with who she is.

The book leads readers into the mind of one confused teenage girl. Violet is weird, geeky and has a strangely fascinating "gift." Her eyes change colour. As Violet learns more about her gift and her life, she faces more challenges than she ever expected. Though set in modern-day U.S.A., her story revolves around Cruddas' own creative adaptation of a biblical story that involves angels.

Raw and relevant, "FeatherFall" is simply a story written by a teenager for teenagers which portrays their true feelings and emotions. It is all about making readers enjoy themselves while offering a look into how teenagers' minds work and how they can be affected so easily. It is an endearing story that connects with young adult readers and makes them fall in love with it and the memorable characters on it.

About the Author
Lauren Cruddas is a 15-year-old girl who lives in east London with her family and her Yorkie, Bob. This is her first book, hopefully, of many. Cruddas wants to write full time, but in many different genres. She also wants to give her readers the chance to feel emotions they may never have thought possible and give them an opportunity to view the world from a different perspective. Her passion comes from the support of her friends and family, as well as her romantic side.
