The national debt, Affordable Care Act, income taxes and unemployment are just a few of the issues facing the United States. A new book explores these issues - seen through the lens of a father describing them to his teenage daughter, who will soon be able to vote and affect policy change herself. Terence Ramnarine imagines a potential platform his daughter could use if she ran for president of the United States, presenting solutions to some of the problems facing the nation.

"Scenario Three: Solving America's National Debt, Social Entitlements, and Economic Problems" covers issues ranging from the environment, abortion and rape, the Second Amendment, and credit and college tuition to depression among teens in public school, immigration and the Affordable Care Act. Ramnarine provides his solutions for paying off the nation's debt and suggests politicians rethink everything from the tax code to mortgage deductions and rebuilding Social Security wealth. Forty-eight months of interest-free mortgage payments, corporations contributing toward the national debt, introducing a flat tax system and consolidating appropriation bills are just a few of his intriguing ideas.

Terence Ramnarine was born in Georgetown Guyana, South America, surrounded by tropical rainforests. He lived in South West London for eight years before moving to the United States, where he's been for 33 years. Co-author Katherine Ramnarine, a high school student and Terence's daughter, began asking questions while watching the 2012 elections, which inspired this book. He also has another daughter, Shabana.
