"In the Mists of Paluma" (published by Balboa Press AU), a new novel by Janet Lind, tells the story of Rick Galloway and Sandy Carlyle, who are brought together by transcendent love.

Rick finds himself attracted to the charming Australian mountain town of Paluma, while on a road trip. As he arrives in the town, everything seems improbably familiar. Sandy - a single mother - is chary to trust in love again, but after meeting Rick she finds he has worked his way into her heart, mind and visions. Although Rick is drawn to Sandy, he is beset with persistent nightmares, the feeling he has lost Sandy before, and a bizarre reluctance to be near the waterfall by her house. As Sandy and Rick fall in love, they realize they have a shared past - a past where they lost one another, and, if fate has its way, they may lose one another again.

"The book has variety - it is not simply a romance," Lind says. "Even from a romance point-of-view, the characters are REAL people. … They are scarred physically and emotionally yet, later, they do fall into bed and they do have some really fantastic sex! Of course we also have history (just a small bit), reincarnation and Karma thrown into the mix."
