With already three published books under his belt, seasoned law enforcement officer and prolific author D. E. Gray releases his fourth book entitled "Conflict in Blue: The Marissa Ortega Story." This book continues where his second book, "True to the Blue," left off. Like the rest of his books-"The Warrior in Me" and "Eclipse of the Blue: For Greater Glory" - the overall theme of Gray's latest novel is about the life and challenges of the dedicated working street cop whom he refers to as "warriors" in his books.

This is Gray's fourth book and all of his books have been dedicated to the working street cops in any metropolitan city. As a stunning sequel to "True to the Blue," "Conflict in Blue: The Marissa Ortega Story" continues the saga through the daughter of a former Los Angeles police officer who was murdered by a notorious Hispanic gang member. The daughter, now grown up, is a Los Angeles cop herself and goes after the Hispanic gang members in her community.

Set in Los Angeles, the story naturally revolves around the famed Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). Although there are several interesting and intriguing characters in the book, the main character is Marissa Ortega, a Los Angeles police officer assigned to the Northeast Division of Operation Central bureau. Other characters are either members of a local Los Angeles street gang called the Avenues Street Gang or other police officers who work at the LAPD and are associated with Ortega throughout the story.

Like all the other books, "Conflict in Blue: The Marissa Ortega Story" book appeals to anyone who is, was, or is related to or knows a cop in any greater metropolitan city as they can connect with how these "warriors" put their lives on the line everyday to protect the citizens in their communities. While there are a lot of other books about police or detective work, Gray's book stand out as they are fruits of his real life experience from over four decades of dedicated service in the force.
