Children's Novel 'Mud on Your Face' Wins New Apple E-Book Award for Excellence in Independent Publishing

'Mud on your Face' written by Rachel McGrath and Illustrated by Mario Tereso, was chosen as Medalist Winner in the Children's category of the 2016 New Apple Summer E-Book Awards for Excellence in Independent Publishing.

Book Synopsis
Gus is a seven-year-old boy who comes from a very large family with eight brothers and sisters. Sometimes Gus feels left out, picked on, or even forgotten by his family. He wonders what life might be like if he had no brothers or sisters, and if he was an only child. On a family camping trip Gus finds himself lost in the woods, left behind by his family. A different adventure takes place for Gus with a strange new friend. Be careful what you wish for….

About the Author
Rachel McGrath grew up in Australia and later moved to the UK for her professional career. Having published her first book in 2015 (a memoir), Rachel has always loved writing and has since focused on writing children's fiction stories. Mud on your Face is Rachel's first published children's novel and is an illustrated fantasy adventure story aimed at middle school readers.

About the New Apple Book Awards
The New Apple Summer E-Book Awards for Excellence in Independent Publishing was established to honor the creative achievements of the unsung books fighting for their place within the digital publishing world. Any English language e-book published within the last three years, currently available for sale by an independent author or small press that met the Awards' guidelines was eligible for entry. One book was chosen in each category as the solo Medalist Winner receiving the highest honors. In addition, the judges were permitted to choose up to three Official Selections for category distinction.
