"As a little girl dog with a beard, Charlee encountered taunting of various sorts. I think we all experience bullying in some form during our lives," said Kara Jill Stancell, author of the book and Charlee's human mother. "My hope is that Charlee's adventures will be able to provide children with both entertainment and life lessons to help them overcome such challenges in a very relatable way."

In her book debut, "Charlee's Brave Dog Hamburger," Charlee learns what not to do when taunted by the neighbor's troublesome Chihuahuas. Charlee sees that retaliation not only makes the issue worse, but also hurts her in the process. In the end, however, she decides to make the right choice and enjoys the limelight (and a treat) for her bravery.

Stancell, joined by her niece, illustrator Morgan K.Buhler, who also experienced bullying as a child, knew this impactful, yet quirky narrative would be the perfect spark to bring the first of Charlee's Tales fun books for kidsbook series to life.
