Author, minister and former gang member Carl Gregory Williams describes the path he took from gang involvement to reconciliation in his 2008 memoir, "From Playing to Praying" (published by AuthorHouse).

This year, Williams remarkets his book to today's youth, to share with them his story of triumph over the perils of gang and the streets.

At the age of 12, Williams helped start a gang. By the next year, he was under investigation by the FBI for his gang-related exploits.

He experienced brutal scenes of violence during his criminal past, including the shootings and near-death beatings of numerous people.

After he was acquitted of a crime that could have sentenced him to 40 years in prison, Williams decided to turn his life around. He now earns a six-figure income, travels the country speaking to young people about the dangers of gang involvement and ministers to patrons of his local Church Second Baptist where the pastor is Lee Gilliam.

He now offers his life story in book form to inspire others to change their situations and seek a more righteous path, just as he did as a young man. Williams went from playing in the streets to praying in church. View video From Playing to Praying on Yahoo and YouTube.
