Book Shares Tale Behind Old Deck of Playing Cards' History Curious about the history of old airline playing cards from the '80s, author David T. Straw picked up the idea to write "Complimentary Tales" (published by Archway Publishing), a fascinating story behind an old deck of playing cards that comes to life as it is passed around the world and affects the lives of all who play a hand.

Straw describes his book as a story in reverse that takes readers back in time, to follow a deck of old airline playing cards from the 1980s. Unknown to the young boy who gets them, they will travel all over the world and touch a great many hands, and be part of a great many stories.

"The timeline is different, as it does not follow a usual chronological order. The figurative language and the characters," says Straw about the uniqueness his book. Ultimately, Straw wants his readers to enjoy the story and smile at a possible connection they can relate to.
