BEACHWOOD, N.J.

Inspired by the author's personal recovery from alcoholism, the novel "Henrietta Rose" (published by iUniverse) by Barbara de la Cuesta tells the story of a young woman whose addiction and recovery bring about major life changes. De la Cuesta's book will reach a wider audience this year by way of a new marketing campaign for 2015.

Henrietta Rose, once a rich and famous hostess traveling internationally, sobers up after a lifetime of alcohol abuse. Henrietta has lost almost everything, including her three children, due to her past drinking habits.

It is only when Henrietta organizes a dinner party to reconnect with her brother and grandson that she realizes her true purpose in life.

"(The book) is an inside look at a family disease afflicting many," de la Cuesta says. "It is also an intimate look into the 12-Step Program and the changes it can make in one's life."
