Barbara Mancine Opens 'Brown Bunny's Bird and Flower Book'

Barbara Mancine debuts as a published author with the release of "Brown Bunny's Bird and Flower Book" (published by Archway Publishing), a picture book that aims to teach children different kinds of birds, flowers and colors. Coupled with illustrations by Amie Mancine, the book introduces little Brown Bunny who loves to sit and eat delicious green grass, but he is happy to tell the passing birds all about the beautiful flowers and God's wondrous creation.

Brown Bunny loves to sit outside in the lazy afternoon sun and study the world around him. He sees brightly colored beauties. He wonders at orange lilies, pink impatiens and yellow marigolds. He appreciates the delicate petals of purple petunias, white daises and red roses too. Finally, Brown Bunny thanks God for all his bird friends and the beautiful flowers.

"Besides learning to recognize birds and flowers, small children learn that God created the beautiful things we see around us," Mancine illuminates. "We all need to slow down and take time to appreciate the beauty and wonder of God's creation."

About the Author
Barbara Mancine is a retired elementary school teacher. She lives in Stow where she enjoys spending time with her seven grandchildren.

Amie Mancine illustrated the book. She teaches life sciences at high school and college levels at Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron. She lives in North Canton with her husband, two sons, daughter and pets.
