"ANGEL HAIR" is the story of a time, a place, a family. The time is 1958-an era of swiftly passing innocence. The place is Victoria BC, a tight-knit haven of privilege. The family is the Morgans, an eccentric and passionate family caught in a noose of conflict and pain. The insular world of Victoria, a stifling world of traditional values, is a place where the Morgans can never hope to fit.

Ten-year old Myfanwy Morgan longs to know who her mother, Eleanor, really is. For her part, Eleanor, a fiercely intelligent woman, longs for freedom from domestic tedium. She and her mercurial husband, Hugh, have settled into the rhythms of a long rift, bound by history and remnants of love. But as tension mounts it is their children who feel it most, rebelling in shocking ways, bringing to light the depth of the family's pain.

Myfanwy comes of age as unwilling witness to the breakdown of her family. She finds her escape in the haunting world of her imagination, but as the family crisis builds, her 13-year-old brother Owen seeks a more desperate escape and the family begins its descent in earnest. The neighborhood watches, hiding secrets of its own, for behind its stately doors, all is not as it seems. A once predictable serenity will soon be shaken.

"Beautifully written . . . lyrical turns of phrase and evocative imagery. In the tradition of To Kill a Mockingbird, Angel Hair is a complex rendering of time, place and emotion." Clarion ***** Five Star Review.

"An inspired, multi-layered tale, rich with exquisite images. Griffiths never loses sight of the humanity of her characters . . . with all their strengths and weaknesses, they remain profoundly real." Blue Ink (starred review . . . for those novels that transport you.")

"Sure senses of characterization and period atmosphere. The author ably charts the lives of her characters, all acutely drawn and well-rendered, right down to the tiniest, most telling details." Kirkus Indie Review.
