Top High School Filmmakers From Around the World Come Together for the 2016 Teen Indie Awards

The 2016 All American High School Film Festival is comingto New York City on October 7-9. The Film Festival is the premier destination for talented high school filmmakers and media arts enthusiasts from the around the world. The mission is to provide immersive education with a profound impact, connecting the filmmakers of the future with the rewards, respect, and recognition they deserve. With nearly 1,900 submissions, the festival is the world's largest international high school film festival.

"People in the industry, in Hollywood, need to take notice of these young filmmakers," says actor Dylan McDermott. "We need to cultivate and support their tremendous talent and passion. And it all starts with the grand stage the All American High School Film Festival provides."

Student films will be screened and evaluated by industry judges. The three-day film festival will be held October 7-9 and includes a career fair, industry panels, all culminating in the Indie Awards Sunday evening.

More than $400,000 is available in scholarships and awards to high school filmmakers.

Festival Founder, award-winning filmmaker and currently Executive producer of the MTV hit "Unlocking the Truth," Andrew Jenks started AAHSFF and is giving back in a big way - channeling his own experiences as an aspiring young filmmaker and leveraging his industry connections and experience to make sure that the future of film is bright for all. This year, AAHSFF will honor Brittany Snow (Pitch perfect) with their Elevation Award for her commitment to providing a positive platform for anyone feeling mistreated, misunderstood or alone through her organization Love is Louder.

The festival is open to the public and includes film screenings, industry-insider panel discussions and workshops, an interactive technology showcase and the nation's largest film school college fair. This year, the AAHSFSincludes entries from Iran, Czech Republic, Ireland, Turkey, Chile, Norway, Singapore, NewZealand, Israel, Denmark and other nations, and from 40 states in the U.S.
