The M Center for the Arts - Brooklyn's professional training ground for performing artists scores another victory within its celebrated play-and-screenwriters workshop.

Through Genesis Repertory Ensemble, the arts organization that serves as sponsor for the M Center, two more plays from the play-and-screenwriters workshop were chosen for production in John Chatterton's Short Play Lab (part of The Midtown International Theatre Festival). Sterling performances by Cliff Hesse and Mario Claudio in Christopher Sirota's CODE RED and uproarious fun and flawless chemistry between Sara Minisquero and Flynn Harne in Sander Gusinow's DESCENT. The latter WON BEST PLAY OF THE MARCH SERIES. This is the FOURTH AWARD and the EIGHTH PLAY to come out of the workshop and on to the stage.

To date, audiences were treated to the prose of Mohammed Saad Ali (Old Men Are Full of Sh*t and Canaan), Christopher Sirota (Pull the Trigger, Stalled, and Code Red), Sander Gusinow (Descent), Ted Montuori (Curtain Rods), and Robert Liebowitz (Grande Grande Blah Blah, Blah) with Ali & Gusinow bringing home awards from the various festival at which they appeared.

Now the workshop will begin filming these works through Genesis' film production unit, Skaldcraft, for presentation at film festival and on the forthcoming YouTube channel - MCTV.
