Staycation presents Live Music & Comedy Fundraiser 7/13

Now that we're deep into the summer, you deserve a break without leaving the city. Take a STAYCATION with Nightdrive! On Thursday, July 13 from 8-11pm at Bizarre Bushwick, Nightdrive hosts a summer fundraising party complete with live music, comedy, tarot readings, and more, creating an oasis right in Brooklyn. Tickets are $18 in advance and $20 at the door.

NIGHTDRIVE makes inventive, funny, strange plays that push theatrical boundaries in order to communicate with audiences in new and exciting ways. Most recently, their play Providence, RI was presented as a part of Flint & Tinder at the Tank. Their work has been produced at the Ice Factory at the New Ohio, Ars Nova, The Tank, the Brick, Fresh Ground Pepper, the Flea, and Orange Tea Theatre in Amsterdam. Their show ...Apathy Boy was a 2015 O'Neill finalist. Skylar Fox and Simon Henriques are co-artistic directors of Nightdrive. Jenny Gorelick is its executive producer.

Music performers include Clyde & Gracie Lawrence (Lawrence, Warner Bros Music), Ryan Vona (Broadway's Once, Paramour), and Edan Laniado. Stand Up sets will be from Joel Kim Booster and Mo Fry Pasic. In addition to live performances, there will be tarot readings, temporary tattoos, a photo booth, and of course drink specials.

Clyde & Gracie Lawrence are siblings that co-helm the soul-pop group Lawrence, who released their debut LP, Breakfast, in March 2016, and signed with Warner Bros Records in the following fall. They've opened for bands like Lake Street Dive, Soullive, and Vulfpeck, and performed at festivals including Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, Firefly Music Festival, and Outside Lands Music Festival.

Ryan Vona was most recently seen on Broadway in Cirque du Soleil Paramour and Once the Musical! Earlier this year, he released his debut album, Somebody, which you can find on iTunes and Spotify.

Edan Laniado plays piano and arranges music for Waterman-project, a band that has performed all around Israel. He will be releasing his debut solo LP, The Opposite Wall, later this year.

Joel Kim Booster has performed stand up on Conan, @midnight, and the Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail. He's written for Billy on the Street and Problematic with Moshe Kasher. He's been featured at SXSW, SF Sketchfest, and the Just for Laughs Festival. Paper Magazine called him one of the ten comedians you need to know.

Mo Fry Pasic has been featured at Comedy Central's Comics to Watch Showcase and the Riot LA Comedy Festival. Her writing has appeared on Funny or Die and Reductress.
