IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU Opens December 1 at Gallery Players

Wendie Malick to Open 13th Annual Art Of Brooklyn Film Fest with World Premiere Of MOTHER OF ALL SHOWSGallery Players announces the third show of its 51st season with the hysterical musical farce, It Shoulda Been You. It's true that weddings, those celebrations to everlasting love, can potentially bring out the most unusual behavior in people. This non-stop, 90-minute laugh-riot is the perfect way to kick off the holidays.

It Shoulda Been You features book and lyrics by Brian Hargrove with music by Barbara Anselmi. The musical premiered on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre opening on April 14, 2015, and was directed by David Hyde Pierce with choreography by Josh Rhodes, sets by Anna Louizos, costumes by William Ivey Long, and lighting by Ken Billington. The original Broadway production was nominated for six Outer Critics Circle Awards, three Drama League Awards and three Drama Desk Awards.

It Shoulda Been You is a musical comedy for anyone who has parents. In a world where nothing is what it seems, religions collide, plots are revealed, promises broken, secrets exposed and hope springs from the most unlikely of places. It Shoulda Been You invites you to a wedding day that you'll never forget. The bride is Jewish. The groom is Catholic. Their mothers are forces of nature set for an epic collision. When the bride's ex-boyfriend shows up, the perfect wedding starts to unravel faster than you can whistle "Here Comes the Bride!"

It Shoulda Been You opens Friday, December 1st, and runs for 16 performances through Sunday, December 17th, 2017. Gallery has added Wednesday performances for this production. It Shoulda Been You will play Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm, with Saturday matinees at 2:00pm and Sundays at 3:00 PM.
