Comedian Christi Somers to Bring New Solo Show to Joe's Pub
The comedian's third comedy hour follows previous runs at Joe's Pub and Carolines on Broadway.
Comedian Christi Somers will debut a new solo comedy hour at Joe's Pub on July 12, exploring themes of loss, faith, love, and personal transformation through stand-up, storytelling, and song.
Somers will perform her latest comedy hour at Joe's Pub in New York City on Sunday, July 12. The new show combines her signature style of sharp comedy, theatrical storytelling, and candid reflections on life, loss, and resilience.
Drawing from her own experiences, Somers examines childhood, grief, faith, relationships, and the unexpected moments that shape personal growth. The performance blends stand-up comedy with storytelling and music, creating what she describes as a more personal and immediate connection with audiences.
With a background in musical theatre, Somers has been performing since childhood and appeared extensively in regional productions before turning her focus to comedy. This marks her third full-length comedy hour, following previous engagements at Joe's Pub and Carolines.
"I'm very proud of everything I've done in the past, but that version of Christi feels like a completely different person," said Somers. "I've changed—I've experienced tremendous loss, fallen in love and gotten married, left behind the city life for something slower and more intentional, shifted my career toward something more meaningful, and learned how to find peace in the ordinary."
She added, "Honestly, I just want to connect with people. That's really the heart of this show: using comedy to build real connections, because laughter breaks down walls."
The new hour explores the shared experiences that connect people through humor, vulnerability, and honesty, while continuing Somers' blend of comedy and theatrical performance.
