SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS Returns to QPAC This Year
Tickets are now on sale for the ever popular Spirit of Christmas concerts at Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 December 2015.
Presented every year since the Centre opened in 1985, the Spirit of Christmas concerts have become a tradition at QPAC, and promise to be even more special in QPAC's 30th anniversary year.
Making their Spirit of Christmas debut as guest stars will be internationally acclaimed actor and singer Michael Cormick (Phantom of the Opera, Annie The Musical) and award winning Opera Australia Young Artist mezzo-soprano Anna Dowsley (Brisbane Baroque Festival, Great Opera Hits Sydney Opera House).
Conducted by Simon Kenway, the concerts will feature the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, the 250 voice Spirit of Christmas Choir comprising the QPAC Choir, Brisbane Chorale, and Resonance of Birralee; and the Brisbane Birralee Voices Children's Choir.
The Spirit of Christmas concerts will also feature international tenor Jaewoo Kim and showcase recent music theatre graduates Sophie Perkins and Oliver Samson from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University.
ABC TV and Spirit of Christmas favourite, Jenny Woodward will host the concerts and this year's Christmas message will be delivered by Botswana born community leader, Sharon Orapeleng.
Featuring some of your favourite Christmas carols, uplifting songs and, of course, a generous helping of Christmas spirit, QPAC's Spirit of Christmas concerts are the perfect family event to celebrate the true meaning and joy of the Yuletide season.
The Spirit of Christmas concerts are traditionally sold out events, so early booking is recommended to secure your seats.
