Make sure you mark your diary now for Yuletide celebrations at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC's) ever popular Spirit of Christmas concerts on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 December 2013.

It will start to feel a lot like Christmas when the three guest stars for this year's concert bring their combined talent to the Concert Hall stage, singing the world's favourite Christmas Carols and songs.

Mitchell Butel, one of Australian's most prolific and versatile acting and singing talents will be guest artist at QPAC's Spirit of Christmasfor the first time, fresh from Opera Australia's production of South Pacific where he played the character of Seabee Luther Billis.

Mitchell will be joined by Greenroom Award winning musical theatre star Alinta Chidzey, who made her popular Spirit of Christmas debut last year; and Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University Music Theatre Graduate Kimberley Hodgson, making her first Spirit of Christmas appearance.

Also making a welcome return to Spirit of Christmas as host will be ABC TV's Weather Presenter, Jenny Woodward.

The concerts will feature the uplifting sound of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra conducted by Simon Kenway in his second consecutive year with Spirit of Christmas, and the joyful voices of the 150 strong Spirit of Christmas Choir, comprised of the QPAC Choir, the Brisbane Chorale and the children's choir from Brisbane's Birralee Voices.

As always QPAC's Spirit of Christmas concert program will showcase all the popular Christmas carols and songs with audiences invited to sing along and join in these uplifting concerts full of Christmas cheer.

A new addition for Spirit of Christmas 2013 will be a specially produced QPAC Choir Spirit of Christmas CD which audiences can purchase to take home and enjoy at their own Christmas celebrations.

Featuring a selection of beautiful songs sung by the QPAC Choir, including John Rutter's The Colours of Christmas, the CD also includes songs by guest artists including acclaimed Baritone Jason Barry-Smith, singing Holy City and soprano Julia McRae singing Ave Maria.

And concert goers can also extend the Christmas cheer by getting together with the family and enjoying a special two course traditional Christmas dinner at the Lyrebird restaurant before the performance.

Tickets are on sale now for what is QPAC's longest continually presented production, Spirit of Christmas.

These concerts offer a wonderful way for the whole family to get into the Christmas mood and celebrate the festive season. Don't miss out on what are traditionally sell out events. To book go to www.qpac.com.au or phone 136 246.
