QPAC and Bangarra Dance Theatre present an exclusive in-conversation event between Stephen Page, Bangarra Dance Theatre's Artistic Director and Professor Judith McLean, Chair in Arts Education, Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and Scholar in Residence, Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) on the Playhouse Stage immediately following the 6.30pm performance of lore on Tuesday 11 August.

This discussion will enrich audiences dance theatre experience by discovering more about Bangarra, its compelling vision and company of artists, and the making of contemporary dance theatre fused with Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander art and culture.

As well as presenting performances QPAC is also committed to telling the stories behind its artists and companies. Exploring the why, what and who of making arts; finding out why artists do what they do often at great personal sacrifice? What motivates them? Where does inspiration for works come from? Find out how the personal, political and arts and culture in performance.

Stephen Page and Judith Mc Lean will also touch on the creative journey of bringing together three powerful and passionate Bangarra artists to create the company's latest work lore: award-winning Frances Rings and emerging choreographic voices Deborah Brown and Waangenga Blanco.

The Conversation is free for patrons who have purchased tickets to any performance of lore across the season. Simply display your ticket for admission.
