Good Christian Girl Turned Ultimate Fag Hag Presents Her Cabaret At Studio 188 For One Night Only
Local Brisbane performer Cassie George presents her cabaret 'There's Something About Mary(s)' at Brisbane Powerhouse as a part of the Wonderland Festival in late November. Written by Cassie George and Michael Mandalios with Musical Direction by Luke Volker.
The show explores Cassie's journey from Good Christian Girl to the reigning Fag Hag of her university, with anecdotes from her dating life set to a soundtrack from the mid 90's through the early 2000's.
She poses the question, 'Can you keep the scale of Gaggle-of-Gays and Potential Boyfriends in balance, and what happens when it tips over?'
'There's Something About Mary(s)' promises an evening of inside jokes, tongue-in-cheek, earnest storytelling, and easy, laid-back fun.

The cabaret debuted at the New Globe Theatre in August 2017 to critical acclaim.

Since its conception in November 2015, There's Something About Mary(s) has had successful performances in the Short+Sweet 2016 Festival as a Gala Finalist, as well as featuring an excerpt of the show in the Queensland Cabaret Festival in June 2017, both held at the Brisbane Powerhouse.
The cabaret features songs from some of the popular 80's/90's icons including Prince, Christina Aguilera , Salt N Pepa and of course, Cher.
George says, "Approaching queer comedy from a completely new angle, There's Something About Mary(s) is an exciting new work born in the very heart of Brisbane's thriving cabaret scene."
