On Monday June 2, Brisbane Writers Festival (BWF) will present Inspire: Happiness, an evening of insightful conversations about happiness and altruism at the State Library of Queensland.

Led by Buddhist monk, author, and photographer, Matthieu Ricard, the Inspire: Happiness event will discuss the concept of happiness and how we can achieve it. Ricard and special guests Toni Powell and Dr. Timothy Sharp will explore our understanding of the human brain, psychology, and the link between the mind and our sense of happiness and fulfillment.

Sometimes referred to as the "happiest man in the world", Ricard has written several books on happiness and altruism, and has served as French interpreter for His Holiness the Dalai Lama since 1989. Ricard's TED talk "The Habits of Happiness" which teaches audiences to train their minds in the habits of well-being, has been viewed over 3.8 million times.

Wife, mother, grandmother, and self-confessed worrywart, Toni Powell, will share her inspiring stories including unique ways to find happiness amidst all the %&@#! While accomplished academic and CHO (Chief Happiness Officer) of The Happiness Institute, Dr. Timothy Sharp will share his expertise on positive psychology and happiness at work.

This stellar line up of guests will combine for a special, one-night-only event - so don't miss out!
