F.U.D.G.E. Theatre Company announces Fuddy Meers, a play by David Lindsay-Abaire. Fuddy Meers opens for the press on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 8:00 and plays through May 10, 2008.

"I've wanted to direct this show since college, when I chose a scene from the play as my final scene in directing class. David Lindsay-Abaire's writing is brilliant, and I'm excited to bring this piece to life with F.U.D.G.E.  The play is very funny, but has a lot of depth and seriousness to its characters which we're excited to explore," says Joe DeMita, Fudge Theatre Company's President and this production's Director. Fuddy Meers features Linda Goetz, Jim Petty, Anthony DiBartolomeo, Tom Rimer, Theresa Chiasson, Frank Consolo and Katie Graycar.

Claire lives a quiet, suburban life with her husband, Richard, and teen-aged son, Kenny. But Claire has a secret, mysterious past... a past which remains a secret even to herself, because Claire has a rare form of psychogenic amnesia, which erases her memory every time she goes to sleep. One morning, a limping, lisping, half-blind, half-deaf man claiming to be Claire's brother arrives to "save her" from Richard. The limping man brings Claire to the home of her mother, Gertie, a recent stroke victim whose speech has been reduced to near gibberish. While Gertie struggles to reveal the truth of Claire's past, things get further complicated with the appearance of Millet, a dimwitted man with a foul-mouthed hand puppet, as well as the arrival of Richard, Kenny, and an inept lady-cop named Heidi. Each bizarre character adds a new twist to the funhouse plot, and brings Claire — and the audience — one puzzle piece closer to revealing the full picture of Claire's past.
