Auditions have been announced for the pre-Broadway world premiere of David Caudle's The Common Swallow. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, August 23 at 2pm and Thursday, August 25 at 6pm at Provincetown Counter Productions Studio (237 Commercial St. - Whaler's Wharf).

Casting for 11 roles and voice overs played by 6 Actors.
Age range for roles 50 - Legal 18

Female:

Corinthia 50 - A sweet awkward woman - also plays Melinda 40's; mother of 19 year old, a non- speaking role of an old crone; and voice-over role

Karen - 42 - A big city girl from a small town on a final visit home.

Red - 24 - A working class, emotionally abused young wife - also plays Abra 20; a pampered young woman and drug dealer; and a voice-over role.

Male:

Jim - a 19 yr old gangly, eccentric, troubled youth. Gay. Homeless.

Tripp - 39 - Karen's underachieving brother, who never left town.

Policeman - late 30's also plays Porter, Jim's father 40's; and offstage voice of Eddie late 20's Abra's slacker henchman.

The Common Swallow is a richly textured, character driven work set in a Midwestern river town and in part, wrestles with the individual's role in contemporary society. 

Production dates are: September 27-October 2
Rehearsal begins: September 10
