ALTON BROWN LIVE! THE EDIBLE INEVITABLE TOUR Coming to Morrison Center, 2/26/2015

Renowned foodist and television personality Alton Brown today announced the return of Alton Brown Live! The Edible Inevitable Tour, on the heels of the successful inaugural run to 46 US cities. Over 100,000 tickets were sold for the Food Network star's show, featuring a pinch of comedy, talk show antics, a multimedia lecture, live music (he sings!) and a dash of 'extreme' food experimentation (ponchos are provided for those in the first few rows), and of course...puppets. Enthusiastic fans and critics have raved about the interactive component where Brown invites audience members on stage to serve as his assistant.

id Theater returns to McCall, Idaho for the 14th Seven Devils Playwrights Conference, June 9-21, sponsored by the Alpine Playhouse. Playwrights, actors and directors from across the country will travel to McCall to develop and present 6 new plays from all over the country, along with an evening of new works by McCall-Donnelly High School students and two workshops that will be open to the community. As always, all events will be offered to the public free-of-charge.

Broadway's biggest Blockbuster, WICKED, flew out of the Morrison Center on Sunday, May 4, after a 24-performance return engagement in Boise presented by Fred Meyer Broadway In Boise. Close to 40,000 patrons were in attendance this time around. The phenomenon returned by popular demand after a record-breaking run in 2011, providing a significant impact on the local economy once again.

CYT-North Idaho's Rapunzel, from their upcoming spring musical, Rapunzel, A Magical Musical, will be reading to children and performing at the Hayden Library, and the Coeur d'Alene Library on May 7. Rapunzel will read at 10:30 a.m. in Hayden and 1 p.m. in Coeur d'Alene. Rapunzel and some of her fellow characters will also perform a musical number from the show and will be available for pictures.

Idaho Arts Charter in Nampa (high school) invited me to come and review their show BLACK COMEDY by Peter Shaffer. If I do not know the play, I try not to walk in the door with expectation, however, with this title, I was thinking it was going to be a 'dark comedy'. I was pleasantly surprised that it was not.

After my experience with the story, I thought I knew the characters G(a)linda and Elphaba, however Kara Lindsay (G[a]linda) and Laurel Harris (Elphaba) have shown me new characters. Their singing and acting styles have put two new characters on stage that haven't been seen before. I would have been happy to have these two introduce the characters to me, as it was, I enjoyed them showing me another side of each character.
Sounds Forced to Cancel Production of LES MISERABLES

Sounds' mission is to create family friendly theatre. Origianlly, they were planning on producing a run of Les Miserables for their summer musical. They were working with the licensing agent to try and remove all offensive material in order to make it family friendly. However, according to Local News 8, the show has been canceled.
