Idaho Fall Arts Council Announces Upcoming Events Through March

By: Feb. 18, 2010

The Idaho Falls Arts Council has announced its upcoming events through March. They include Tom Rigney and Flambeau, the California Guitar Trio, Leahy, and Martin Weinstein's exhibit at the Carr Gallery.

Tom Rigney & Flambeau
Tom Rigney and his 4 piece band Flambeau, specialize in fiery Cajun and zydeco two-steps, low-down blues, funky grooves, swing, a hint of Irish roots, rock-n-roll, and heartbreakingly beautiful ballads and waltzes. It's a musical gumbo that generates enough heat and energy to ignite any crowd. The concert will be held Saturday, February 20th at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $28 and can be purchased by calling the Colonial Theater at 522-0471.

California Guitar Trio
A whirlwind of instrumental styles fusing classical, rock, blues, jazz, world music, progressive, as well as the quintessential California musical genre surf music. CGT's stunning virtuosity and sly sense of humor have earned them an enthusiastic following and wide notoriety, with significant crossover in the progressive, acoustic and classical music scenes. The concert will be held Saturday, March 6th a 8:00 pm. Tickets are $29 and can be purchased by calling the Colonial Theater at 522-0471.

Leahy
Leahy is a Canadian powerhouse of eight musical Brothers and Sisters who have been playing together their entire lives. Featuring Cape Breton-style fiddling that never stops and a beat that will keep your toe tapping long after the show ends, this musical family's ferocious fiddling expresses a genuine love of a diverse range of music that fuels their own uncompromising creativity.  The concert will be held Friday, March 12th a 8:00 pm. Tickets are $29 and can be purchased by calling the Colonial Theater at 522-0471.

Martin Weinstein

Mr. Weinstein's paintings employ a layered construction of paint on subsequent sheets of plexiglass. These intermittently transparent and opaque passages not only add interest but help create an intimate viewing experience. Exhibition organized through Katharine T. Carter & Associates. The exhibit will be open until March 6th, 2010 at the Willard Arts Center's Carr Gallery.
