The Whole Backstage Children's Theatre Announces Camp Broadway Kids 2010 8/2-6

The Whole Backstage Children's Theatre is VERY HAPPY to announce Camp Broadway Kids 2010! This summer camp AUGUST 2-6, 2010 will center around all things Broadway and will give children the opportunity to experience theatre on a new level. The week will be a Broadway 'Theme' where children will learn about 'The Great White Way' What that is..and its influence on today's theatre. All classes --costumes, set design, acting, etc. will center around what you might see on a trip to the Big Apple!

ASF Announces Spring Provocative Premieres: NOBODY and THE FALL OF THE HOUSE

The Alabama Shakespeare Festival, one of the country's leading theatres in the creation of new stage works, will produce the world premieres of Nobody and The Fall of the House this spring. Produced in a series called Provocative Premieres, Nobody will run March 12-28 and The Fall of the House will run April 9-25. Both plays have been developed through ASF's prestigious Southern Writers' Project new play development program. The Provocative Premieres are suggestive, stimulating and extreme, promising to take audiences to the edge.

Will Stutts will perform his production 'Mark Twain's America' at Merrimack Hall on April 13. Will Stutts has worked longer and more in the genre of the one-person play than almost any other actor in the world. Over three decades, Stutts has appeared in 39 of the United States and three Canadian provinces, in well over 1,000 single engagements before audiences estimated to total over one million. A native of Alabama, Stutts' second cousin was the legendary actress, Tallulah Bankhead. He attended Yale University's School of Drama. This program has been made possible by grants from the Alabama State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
